 The Mobile Alert app is simple to use. As a resident or visitor, you can download the free app on your smartphone. When a public safety official initiates a notification to the app using CodeRED, you’ll receive a push notification directly to your phone. 

The ratings and reviews for this app are poor, however; the dependency is based upon how effective the emergency services team engage in the communications. I have had great success to date with the app and notifications within Kenton County KY. 

The Red Cross offers numerous apps such as first aid, weather alerts, and pet care that are available for free in the Apple App Store or Google Play.
